Feel Professional From Day One

Our Bachelor of Science prepares you for the real world. Whether it is through the AP practical semester, two internships, a student business project, or other extracurricular activities, half of the program is taught outside of the classroom. Business attire is a part of normal daily life, and you will regularly apply your skills in real industry settings through the preparatory year and internships.

Preparatory Semester (Semester AP 1)

The first semester is designed to immerse you in hospitality roles – from workshops and trainings both within the classroom and beyond, you’ll become attuned to excellence in customer service as you gain hands-on knowledge of how to operate a hotel and restaurant.

The Preparatory Year (AP) also begins to nurture your professional skills – such as teamwork, communication, time management, agility, and self-discipline – preparing you for your internship and providing a foundation for your business studies.

Some examples of workshops:
  • Fine dining cuisine
  • Michelin star experience (at Berceau des Sens, EHL's Michelin-starred student training restaurant)
  • Events: management and operations
  • Bakery & pastry making
  • International cuisine
  • Bar & restaurant outlets
  • Oenology & wine-producing regions
  • Mixology

First Internship (Semester AP 2)

Operational Internship

Practice the skills and knowledge gained on campus in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This internship will challenge you to make decisions and gather learnings about what excellence means for today’s customers.

  • Duration: minimum 24 weeks
  • Industry: hospitality environment
  • Roles: kitchen, service, housekeeping, reception, and others

Second Internship (Semester BOSC 4)

Business Internship

Undertake a role in a supervisory or administrative position. As you take on greater responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to apply the management theories you have learned to see the impact that you can make on a business. This internship can be done in any industry, giving you the possibility to explore sectors such as luxury, FMCG, technology, real estate and banking.

  • Duration: minimum 24 weeks
  • Industry: any business environment
  • Roles: business administration

Start-Up Project (Semester BOSC 4)

If you would like to take your first shot at becoming an entrepreneur, you can intern in your own start-up project in place of the second internship. You will get a unique opportunity to kickstart your entrepreneurial journey during your studies. If your idea is selected, you get to develop the business with the support and guidance of faculty mentors.

The EHL Innovation Hub is a fertile ground where multiple startups are brought together, fostering collaboration and mutual growth.

Student Business Project - SBP
(Final Semester)

Engage in a real consulting mandate during your final semester with our Student Business Projects (SBP).

Join a team of five students to tackle industry-specific challenges, delivering actionable insights and innovative solutions to an external client. Under the mentorship of experienced faculty, you will explore various themes such as product development, marketing strategy, market studies, customer experience design, and business plan validation.

This hands-on experience not only enhances your professional skills but also offers potential career opportunities.
