We skillfully blend professionalism with embracing individuality, fostering an environment where authenticity thrives. Your voice holds significance in every interaction, regardless of hierarchy. Choosing EHL means joining a community that not only embraces diversity but also champions personal growth.

Spend a semester immersed in hospitality roles before you take part in an applied internship in a fast-paced environment. This preparatory year, delivered in Switzerland, begins to nurture your professional skills, such as communication, time management, agility, and self-discipline.

During your preparatory year, you will take part in:

  • Weekly workshops covering every aspect of hospitality experiences
  • Practical training delivered by industry-acclaimed teachers and Michelin-starred chefs
  • A research and development workshop
  • 24-week minimum internship in a hotel operational position

More about the practical arts year

Through theory classes, you will build a solid base of business knowledge and foundational skill such as data analysis, communication, and leadership. By exploring real-life situations, you will be challenged to seek ways to improve the outcome by applying customer service principles.

During the first semester, you will strengthen your key business skills as you explore more management topics. Building in the foundational business knowledge, this semester introduces you to the challenges that business leaders navigate today.

In the second semester, you apply the skills and knowledge you have gained through an internship either in a administrative position or your own start-up.

Your final year develops the professional skills you need for the future by exploring more complex business topics and putting your learnings into practice. With a choice of study and assignment options, you will shape your final year around your career aspirations.

Choose from three final projects. You can work with a team to resolve a challenge for one of our industry partners or on building a start-up, or work independently on an applied research topic.
