How to apply for the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management at EHL Campus (Singapore)

Students wishing to apply to the Bachelor program must apply to the campus where they wish to follow most of the courses for the degree (Lausanne or Singapore).  This page is about the application procedure to join the Bachelor in Singapore.

Please note the Preparatory Year takes place on EHL Campus Lausanne for all students

Four Steps to Join EHL Campus (Singapore)

Please begin by creating a profile on our online application portal. You can save your file at any time and return later to upload documents and finish your application. You will be required to submit the documents listed below electronically via the online application portal. We accept documents in French, English, German or Italian.

All certificates and transcripts that are not in English, French, German or Italian must be translated into English by a certified translator. The translation should be accompanied by comprehensive information on the school or university attended and an explanation of the grading and assessment system.

Important!

Don’t forget to hit the “Submit” button when you have uploaded your documents and finalize your application by paying the application fee of SGD 325.

An EHL admissions officer will review your online application. If you meet the admissions requirements, then you will receive an invitation to complete an online evaluation that includes a 20-minute online interview that you can complete at home. You need a computer with a webcam and access to internet in order to complete the online interview.

We have replaced our famous selection days with an online selection interview that involves members of the admissions team, faculty and current students.

This interview is an opportunity to showcase your interests and abilities and to ask your own questions about starting, living and learning at EHL. 

Special provisions for Junior Academy participants

Junior Academy participants will benefit from first-hand coaching by the Admission team and receive tips to best prepare their application to the Bachelor Course. Junior Academy participants who then apply to EHL’s Bachelor degree will be exempted from the application fee and the online interview, which will be done during the Academy.

 

Following the selection interview, your complete candidature will be evaluated by the Admissions Committee. Admission to EHL is competitive, and only students who show excellent academic and leadership potential, motivation and interpersonal skills will be selected.

Application Deadlines

A motivation day will be chosen according to the deadline you respect when submitting your application. However, we strongly encourage you to apply early in order to guarantee availability. The visa application process takes 2-4 weeks.

Admissions Requirements for the EHL Bachelor Course in Singapore

The admissions criteria are the same for the Bachelor course in Lausanne or Singapore. To access our Bachelor in International Hospitality Management, you must have successfully completed your final secondary school examinations, qualifying you for university admission in the country where you went to school. In general, we require grades that are well above the minimum pass level. We also take into consideration the difficulty of the courses you chose, and prefer subjects that develop the analytical skills needed to succeed at EHL.

The minimum age for entry to our Bachelor's course is 18 (You must be 18 before the course start date)

  • International Baccalaureate: 
  • Switzerland - Maturité gymnasiale/fédérale/professionnelle/spécialisée: successful completion

  • France - Baccalauréat obtained before 2021
    • Baccalauréat Général with maths (until 2020): minimum grade of 12/20
    • Baccalauréat STMG: minimum grade of 12/20
  • France - Entrance requirements for September 2022 & February 2023
    • Baccalauréat STMG and ES: min. 12/20
    • Baccalauréat S and L (mathematics option mandatory): min. 10/20
    • Baccalauréat Général: min. 12/20
      • + Mathematics in Première and Terminale (Spécialité for both years OR spécialité + option mathématiques complémentaires)
      • + One year of Spécialité SVT (Sciences de la Vie et de la Terre) OR Physique-Chimie (The Première curriculum of Spécialité SVT or Physique-Chimie can be taken via the CNED during Terminale).
  • France - Entrance requirements for September 2023 & February 2024:
    • Baccalauréat STMG and ES: min. 12/20
    • Baccalauréat S and L (mathematics option mandatory): min. 10/20
    • Baccalauréat Général: min. 12/20
      • + Mathematics in Première and Terminale (Spécialité for both years OR spécialité + option mathématiques complémentaires)
      • + Spécialité SVT (Sciences de la Vie et de la Terre) OR Spécialité Physique-Chimie in Première and Terminale (these can be taken via the CNED during Première and Terminale).

  • United Kingdom -  A-Levels (minimum 3 required, a numerical subject is highly recommended): BBC
  • Singapore - GCE A Levels: Three H2 subjects and one H1 subject, including Mathematics, with a B average. A strong grade in Project Work and General Paper or Knowledge & Inquiry paper must be attained.
    Polytechnic diploma: Polytechnic diploma, ideally from a business or engineering stream, with a strong pass in GCE O Level Mathematics or equivalent (quantitative subject).
    NUS High School Diploma
  • Germany -  Abitur: a minimum average of 3
  • Spain - Grades of Bachillerato plus Selectividad exam (named nota de acceso) with an average of 7
  • Italy - Maturità: 60/100
  • Canada - Diplôme d’Etudes Collégiales / Secondary School Diploma with a minimum overall average of 75% (including English and at least 1 quantitative subject in the final year)
  • Brazil - Certificado de Conclusão do Ensino Medio (7/10), plus satisfactory results in the Concurso Vestibular or ENEM (400-500 min. required).
  • South America - Bachillerato: dependent on the country
  • India - Senior Secondary School Certificate: 70%
  • Australia - Senior Secondary School Certificate (HSC, VCE, WACE etc) : Minimum ATAR 75
  • China - Senior High School Graduation Diploma, plus (1) Gao Kao or (2) satisfactory SAT 1 or ACT results and evidence of higher achievement (3 AP or IB Higher Level certificates): Minimum Gao Kao results vary according to the province and year
    • 3 AP certificates with a min. score of 3
    • 3 IB HL certificates with a min. score of 4
    • 3 Honors courses including 1 Math or Science subject, minimum score of B

Please note, students may also choose to submit a combination of the above certificates. If a student has not obtained any of the above-mentioned certificates, he/she may contact Admissions for consideration of other qualification on a case-by-case basis.

  • Korea - High School Diploma plus (1) KSAT or (2) satisfactory SAT 1 or ACT results and evidence of higher achievement (3 AP or IB Higher Level certificates): Average of Stanine 3 in each subject on the KSAT.  Plus evidence of one of the following higher achievements in 3 different subjects:
    • 3 AP certificates with a min. score of 3
    • 3 IB HL certificates with a min. score of 4
    • 3 Honors courses including 1 Math or Science subject, minimum score of B

Please note, students may also choose to submit a combination of the above certificates. If a student has not obtained any of the above-mentioned certificates, he/she may contact Admissions for consideration of other qualification on a case-by-case basis.

  • American High School Diploma:
    • Unweighted GPA of min. 3
    • + SAT 1 (min. 500 points in each section)
    • OR ACT results (with a min. composite score of 24).

Plus evidence of one of the following higher achievements in 3 different subjects:

    • 3 AP certificates with a min. score of 3
    • 3 IB HL certificates with a min. score of 4
    • 3 Honors courses including 1 Math or Science subject with a minimum score of B

All score reports must be sent directly to EHL by the College Board:
  • EHL’s institutional code for the SAT I and AP certificates: 4102
  • EHL’s institutional code for the ACT: 5384

Other Credentials

Other higher secondary education credentials may be accepted at our discretion. Please contact the Admissions office for further details.

 

If you are in your final year of secondary school and have not yet received your diploma, then you may apply for conditional acceptance based on your grades to date. You must submit your final exam results and a copy of your diploma as soon as you have them.

The transcripts must show the courses you have taken and the grades you received. If you have attended university since leaving secondary school, then you must submit your university certificates and transcripts (for students who have attended university in Switzerland an ex matriculation letter is required). Predicted grades are required for the International Baccalaureate, British A-levels and the French Baccalauréat candidates who have not received their diploma by the application deadline.

The essay is an important part of your application. It is an opportunity for you to showcase your strengths, motivation and interests. Your essay should be typed and contain between 500-650 words.

Your essay will tell us a great deal about you, and it will also enable us to assess your analytical skills and determine whether you can organize your thoughts and express them clearly.  We expect you to produce an interesting personal account for your selected topic.

English 

You must provide one of the following documents: 

  • A certificate showing that for the last six years of your secondary education you studied in a school where English was the main language of instruction.
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) new Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) - minimum 100 points or paper-based test minimum score 600 points or computer-based test minimum score 250
  • Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English, minimum grade B.
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System), academic module - minimum band score 7.0.
  • IB English A (HL or SL) with a minimum grade of 4 or IB English B (HL) with a minimum grade of 5 or IB English B (SL) with a minimum grade of 6.
  • A-levels with English Literature Language: Minimum B.
  • Bac option Internationale, Maturité Bilingue, Bac Européen: Minimum 3 Subjects in English (including English).

The Student Contract

The student contract is an important legally binding document between EHL Campus (Singapore) and its students. Please read it thoroughly before signing it.  Both local and international students admitted to EHL Campus (Singapore) must sign and submit the student contract before proceeding with their admission process.

As per the CPE regulations, the contract is meant for admission to one course and must contain the following compulsory fields:

  • Detailed information about the course, including admission requirement, course duration and qualification awarded.
  • Comprehensive information regarding the tuition and miscellaneous fees breakdown.
  • Commitment to Fee Protection Scheme, which insure the tuition fees paid by students.
  • Clear information regarding the refund policy.
  • Clear information regarding dispute resolution.

The Student Pass

International students will need a Student Pass to be allowed to study at EHL Campus (Singapore).

Our Student Affairs team will support you throughout the Student Pass application process.

Student pass holders cannot engage in any form of employment or in any business, profession or occupation in Singapore whether paid or unpaid, without a valid work pass issued by Ministry of Manpower. Student pass holders are expected to have a minimum attendance rate of 90%. 

How to apply for a Student Pass

Assemble the documents as required by the Imigration and Checkpoints Authority and verify whether you are coming from a visa-required country.
Our Student Affairs team will provide you with your Student Pass Application number. You will use it to submit your application together with the required documents from step 1
Our Student Affairs team will monitor the status of your Student Pass application (processing time is 2 to 4 weeks on average, some applications can take a longer time) and guide you through the next steps of the Admissions process.
Once your student pass application is approved, we will send you a copy of the In-Principle Approval Letter (IPA) issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA). This letter will serve as an entry visa to Singapore if you are from visa-required countr
Following the issuance on the In-Principle Approval Letter, we will then issue your first invoice for the course.We will contact you for your choice of language courses, meal and accommodation plan, health insurance and other logistical matters.Upon receipt of your first payment, we will finalize your set-up in the School systems and prepare your student card.
You will start your course with the Orientation Week, where we will provide you further information about your new environment at school and in Singapore.

The Fee Protection Scheme aims at protecting the international and local students’ fees in the event that the course provider is unable to continue operations due to insolvency and/or regulatory closure.

Furthermore, it protects the student if the course provider fails to pay penalties or to return fees to students arising from judgements made against it by the Singapore Courts.
