Our campus offers the best features of a Swiss hospitality school in a sophisticated business university environment. Students enjoy convenient accommodations and food & beverage outlets, alongside purpose-built practical learning spaces and academic facilities. Above all, the facilities at EHL support rigorous academic learning, a healthy lifestyle and interactions with industry leaders and peers.
EHL has started to build its new campus. During the renovation work, the total number of rooms available will vary depending on the progress of the project.
- Bachelor Degree Students:
First-year (Preparatory Year) students are encouraged to live on-campus. They are encouraged to live in one of our double occupancy rooms to facilitate their integration and make their travel to and from classes easy and enjoyable. For subsequent years, non-European students are given priority for single rooms, but many students choose to live off-campus, sharing apartments in the city of Lausanne.
- Graduate Students:
Students on the EMBA, CREM and MGH programs are given single rooms. Accommodation prices vary between CHF 800 and CHF 1400 monthly, depending on room type. Housing minimum rental period is for the duration of the academic program in which the student is enrolled. Heating, electricity and internet costs as well as bed linen, towels and weekly cleaning are included in the price.
Food & Beverage Outlets
Our campus offers a variety of dining experiences that meet the standards of a true Swiss hospitality school. At the beginning of each academic year, students receive cards that are charged with a mandatory minimum amount to cover meals and beverages consumed in the outlets on campus.
Food Court: The food court offers seven types of cuisine with new things to try every day: ethnic, bistro, grill, trattoria, salad bar, sushi and sandwiches, not to mention a full range of delicious snacks.
Other food outlets and bars are are available on campus: Grab'n'Go for fast food and hot sandwiches, the Passerelle Bar for snacks and easy dining and the M Bar is the place to meet and greet colleagues and students on- or off-duty.
Boutique EHL: Our boutique offers students, staff and visitors a wide selection of breads, pastries, snacks, cakes and chocolates. All products are made by students and instructors or are selected among our alumni brands. Open Monday to Friday, 11:15 to 19:30.
Berceau des Sens: Our gastronomic training restaurant is featured in the Gault-Millau guide and is open to the public from Monday to Friday. Reservations are highly recommended. Students and staff may reserve a table at the Berceau des Sens to taste their creations, served by our first-year students (under EHL staff supervision).
On Campus Services
The school proposes a variety of services to meet students’ every-day needs and specialized health and emergency services.

Practical Arts Facilities
The campus features state-of-the-art practical learning areas including the demonstration kitchens where students get a good view of the tools and techniques used by master chefs; the Peter Michael wine-tasting laboratory, where students can deepen their knowledge of wine in a professional environment; and the Berceau des Sens, our gourmet restaurant where students practice fine-dining service techniques with real guests.
Academic & Research Facilities
Our campus has over 50 classrooms for academic courses and multiple group work areas.
Library: The library is able to accommodate 260 students over an area of 900 m²; it houses around 34,000 books and provides access to over 100 databases containing more than 103,000 full text documents. It is part of the Network of Libraries and Information Centers in Switzerland (NEBIS). NEBIS provides access to around 10.5 mio documents.
Auditorium: This multimedia auditorium has a seating capacity of 220, which can be increased to 300. Named after the school's founder, Jacques Tschumi, it is used for conferences, seminars, lectures and external events.
Aula: This event hall has a seating capacity of 270 to 500. It is used for graduation ceremonies, student events and gala dinners for external clients.
Business Incubator: Through the Innovation Hub and its incubator program, EHL offers the use of its facilities and expertise to young entrepreneurs - especially graduates of EHL - who wish to set up their own businesses.
A new campus for students, designed by students
Scheduled for inauguration in 2021, our new eco-friendly campus was designed by students to incorporate social design and use the natural campus environment for maximum inspiration. Initiated with crowd-sourcing, the project called for proposals from architectural schools all over the world. Of the 120 projects submitted, 40 teams were invited to Switzerland to meet with EHL students for feedback and guidance. The result is a new campus that will meet Minergie-P © standards for energy efficiency and comfort and function as a healthy eco-system with an organic orchard, replanting of local trees, and a running trail around the campus that will be open to the public.
