Omar Ballester

Dr. Omar Ballester is an Adjunct Professor at EHL Hospitality Business School since 2023, where he has taught "Leading in the age of AI" and "Computational Thinking" on the Lausanne campus. In addition to his work at EHL, Dr. Omar Ballester is part of the funding policy team at the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) within the AI Group, contributing to how Switzerland's research relies on AI.

Previously, Dr. Omar Ballester worked as Policy and Institutional Research Advisor at the EPFL President's Office and represented the institution in national data science and AI committees. He founded the GovAI initiative at the Graduate Institute of Public Administration (University of Lausanne) while working on the applications of AI in the public sector. He has also taught at the University of Geneva and has been an affiliated researcher at the University of Amsterdam.

Dr. Omar Ballester holds a PhD in Management of Technology from EPFL, a CAS in Public Governance and Administration from ETH Zurich, and a BSc in Physics from the University of Valencia.Beyond academia and policy, Dr. Omar Ballester works with leaders and organizations to help them navigate AI adoption and its strategic implications for their business.
