Earn Two Swiss Degrees in International Hospitality Management

By following the Professional Pathway, you will graduate with two recognized Swiss degrees in hospitality management, giving you unique professional advantages to launch your career. It is an ideal choice if you have a passion for culinary arts, communication and hotel management, and you want to get plenty of real-world experience during your degree.

Starting with the Swiss Professional Degree*, you will benefit from a balanced 50/50 combination of theoretical and practical learning with a strong customer focus that includes a strong foundation of industry experience. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry to impress employers with your excellent hospitality management skills and in-depth practical knowledge.

You can choose between the English and German sections for the first part of the program in Passugg.  The final semester in Lausanne is taught in English.

This program focuses on fundamental hospitality management concepts combined with in-depth operational skills in Food & Beverages, customer-centric Services and Hotel Management. In the final semester of the Swiss Professional Degree, you will specialize in one of two Majors: Culinary Arts or Spa & Wellness Management.

Following the Swiss Professional Degree, you will enter a top-up program to earn the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management.

      Student professional Pathway
      Graduate with two years of work experience

      Entering the industry with two full years of work experience, both in operations and in a supervisory role, will set you apart as a mature candidate who has enough professional know-how to confidently lead a team possessing the minimum number of years of experience required for a managerial position.

      That is why the Swiss Professional Degree requires a total of two years of work experience, including the program internships. This requirement can be achieved in several ways which are explained in further detail in the program brochure.  Applicants with hospitality work experience may be given up to one year of credit towards the total time required for completing the Swiss Professional Degree (work certificates required).

          Upgrade Your Degree to the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management

          Upon successful completion of the Professional Diploma, you can complete your bachelor’s degree by studying for three more semesters focusing on international business strategy and development. You will follow the same courses as those offered on the campus in Lausanne, (See Semester 3 & 5 of the Academic Pathway), delivered at SSTH.  The final semester (Semester 6 of the Academic Pathway), is delivered in Lausanne.

          In this top-up program, you will build upon the knowledge acquired during your Swiss Professional Degree by studying subjects at an advanced level in business analysis, strategic management, applied and integrated hospitality management, communication and culture. Through teamwork assignments, case studies, regular interactions with industry experts, electives and a final degree project, you will acquire additional skills to be an effective business leader in your future career.

          The final semester in Lausanne gives you an opportunity to apply your business knowledge and hospitality expertise in the Student Business Project, a consulting project for an industry partner.

          *Dipl. Hôtelière-Restauratrice/Hôtelier-Restaurateur ES in French. This Swiss Professional Degree requires a total of 2 years of professional experience.
