Courte description

Dr Achim Schmitt est Professeur Ordinaire à l'Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne et Doyen (a.i.) de la Graduate School de l'EHL. Au cours des huit dernières années, Achim a dirigé la création de plusieurs nouveaux programmes d'études supérieures : le MSc Global Hospitality Business, le MSc in Wine and Hospitality, le blended MBA in Hospitality, ainsi que le Hospitality EMBA. Le Dr Schmitt est titulaire d'un doctorat de l'Université de Genève, a obtenu son habilitation à l'Université de Paris-Dauphine en France et est professeur invité à l'Université de Genève. Avant de rejoindre le monde universitaire, Achim a été consultant en redressement d'entreprises en Allemagne, en Autriche et en Suisse. Il a acquis une expérience académique à l'Audencia Business School de Nantes (France), à la Columbia Business School (USA), à l'Université HEC de Genève (Suisse), à l'Universidad de Los Andes de Bogota (Colombie), à l'Université de Saint-Gall en Suisse et à la China Europe International Business School (CEIBS, Chine).


Les recherches du Dr Achim Schmitt portent sur la théorie des organisations et la gestion stratégique, avec un intérêt particulier pour l'ambidextérité organisationnelle, le déclin organisationnel, le redressement des entreprises et le renouvellement stratégique. Ses articles et communications ont été publiés dans diverses publications, dont la Harvard Business Review, l'International Journal of Management Research, le Journal of Management Studies, Long Range Planning, Management Learning et la MIT Sloan Management Review. Il siège actuellement à deux conseils d'administration dans le secteur privé, au conseil consultatif académique de CEIBS Europe, ainsi qu'aux comités de rédaction de Long Range Planning.
