Biographie

Achim est membre de l'équipe de direction du groupe EHL, doyen de l'EHL Hospitality Business School et professeur titulaire à l'EHL Hospitality Business School.

Cependant, ses contributions vont au-delà de ses titres. Achim est un défenseur passionné de l'excellence académique et joue un rôle essentiel en tant que catalyseur de changements positifs au sein de l'école. Son engagement inébranlable en faveur de l'autonomisation des autres le distingue véritablement et a joué un rôle déterminant dans le succès de la Graduate School.

Titulaire d'un doctorat de l'Université de Genève et d'une habilitation de l'Université de Paris-Dauphine, le Dr Schmitt fait preuve d'un engagement inégalé en matière de développement intellectuel et d'acquisition de connaissances. Il a rejoint l'EHL en 2013, et son dévouement à repousser les limites et à créer de multiples programmes d'études supérieures innovants aux niveaux national et international a consolidé sa réputation de leader visionnaire.

Pourtant, le parcours du Dr Schmitt dans le monde universitaire n'a pas été des plus classiques. Avant de se plonger dans le monde de l'enseignement supérieur, il a excellé en tant que consultant en redressement d'entreprises dans toute l'Europe germanophone, démontrant sa capacité à relever des défis complexes avec finesse. Cette combinaison unique d'expérience du monde réel et d'expertise académique lui permet d'apporter une perspective nouvelle à son enseignement et à sa recherche.

Tout au long de son illustre carrière, M. Schmitt a acquis une expérience universitaire en occupant des postes prestigieux dans diverses écoles de commerce internationales (HEC Genève, Columbia Business School, Universidad de los Andes, Université de Saint-Gall, Audencia Nantes, ainsi que China Europe International Business School, entre autres). Audencia Nantes, ainsi que China Europe International Business School, entre autres) et a apporté d'importantes contributions à des revues universitaires de premier plan (Harvard Business Review, Journal of Management Studies, Long Range Planning, MIT Sloan Management Review) et à des médias (Financial Times, Handelsblatt). Ses recherches sur la théorie des organisations et la gestion stratégique, en particulier dans des domaines tels que le déclin organisationnel, le redressement des entreprises et le renouvellement stratégique, lui ont valu la reconnaissance et le respect de la communauté universitaire.

Au-delà de ses activités universitaires, l'acuité stratégique de M. Schmitt est très recherchée dans le secteur privé, où il siège à deux conseils distingués, le conseil consultatif académique de CEIBS Europe et le comité éditorial de Long Range Planning. Sa capacité à traduire son expertise en idées concrètes pour la réussite des entreprises est tout à fait remarquable. La passion, l'expertise et l'engagement du Dr Achim Schmitt en faveur de l'excellence académique font de lui un leader inspirant pour l'Hospitality Business School de l'EHL.
