Our Campus in Passugg, Switzerland
Our Swiss School of Tourism & Hospitality is a real ‘gem'. This is partly due to its location and panoramic alpine views, the historic architecture dating from the ‘Belle Époque' era, and the building's unique history as a health resort with healing waters.
The Passugg campus has several buildings. The main building is the school hotel, which still retains its old world charm with elegant dining rooms and a large, sunny terrace. The campus has 5 in-house restaurants, a festive ballroom, various lounges, single and double rooms for students, as well as classrooms and group workrooms.
Accomodations with flair
Our school hotel offers 140 rooms in different categories for double or single use. Many have a wonderful view over the city of Chur and the mountains. Some even have a terrace. All rooms are fully furnished, including telephone and wireless internet connection. Laundry facilities are available 24/7, and a dry cleaning service is available.
Our accommodations include full board service with a continental breakfast buffet, a 3-course menu for lunch and a light buffet for dinner on Monday through to Friday. On weekends, our students enjoy a brunch and a large dinner buffet. Living in the School Hotel during the academic semesters is obligatory for all international students.
The quoted package price for accommodation is for a standard single room with a shared shower and toilet. A limited number of rooms in other categories are available at a nominal surcharge or price reduction. Please ask your Admissions officer for more information.
SSTH has modern, state of the art classrooms furnished with the latest teaching equipment.
Practical training lessons take place in the fully equipped production kitchen, the finishing kitchen, the restaurant back office, the dining room and in an à la carte training restaurant. Here students experience real life business scenarios as they serve and cook for real guests.
Group rooms, a library and various quiet places around the campus provide enough space for individual learning or group work and studies.
Wireless internet access on the entire campus enables students to choose their favorite spots for studying or relaxing.
Over 250 lunch menus are prepared daily in four kitchens and served in five in-house restaurants, which have different menus, corresponding to each restaurant’s concept. Four of the five restaurants are run by students; the last is a self-service buffet.
Five restaurants under one roof
- The restaurant "Umami" offers Asian specialties like sushi and noodle soups
- The Restaurant "Da Fortunat", formerly Paulaners, specializes in regional dishes with ingredients from the regions Graubünden, Tessin and Uri.
- The restaurant "Campigiana" is our bistro and bar, and the heart of the school. Here students and lecturers meet for coffee and drinks, with burgers and club sandwiches (among others) served at lunchtime.
- The name of the classic restaurant "The Essence" indicates that everything is prepared fresh with a 3-course menu, white table linen and classic table service. In this restaurant, you have to take a little more time to also enjoy some high class wines.
- In the non-public restaurant "The Market", things go even faster and students and staff can choose what they like according to the Marché principle. A starter buffet, a main course selection with a vegetarian choice, and a dessert buffet round off the menu, with some of the dishes being prepared freshly in front of the guests.
Services that make student life easier

Our campus offers plenty of space for students to enjoy their well-deserved time off. The lobby is the heart of the school hotel and the most popular place to meet and study. In summer, a large terrace with comfortable lounge style furniture attracts students during breaks and in the evenings.
After a hectic day students can relax in the game room area, and enjoy a game of pool billiard, table soccer or just relax watching TV or a movie with friends. In the modern, fully equipped student kitchen, students can cook their own traditional food and host small get-togethers. In summer, a barbeque grill is set-up for outdoor cooking.
Our in-house disco - the "Stübli" is a student-managed bar and discotheque that hosts parties and fun evenings on a regular basis. Our brand new fitness room offers the latest cardio-training and strength building equipment.
Throughout the semester a leisure time program is offered to students, mostly free of charge. Activities include ski and snowboard lessons, Swiss city trips, ice-skating afternoons, river rafting, hiking events and much more.
Every week students play soccer and are offered a transfer to the city sports facilities in Chur. Students can use facilities such as fitness center, pool, sauna, beach volleyball court, ice-skating rink and sign up for aerobic and Zumba courses, all free of charge.
