1. Personal Data we collect on/through EHL Websites
Personal Data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly.
As a general principle, EHL Websites automatically recognize and collect certain data about your computer and connection, including the type of Internet browser you use, time spent on EHL Websites, the pages visited and the IP address of your internet service provider (ISP).
The Data collected may be used for the following purposes: to monitor and improve our Websites; to fulfill security purposes; to provide you with an excellent customer experience; to ensure that we provide you with the proper information; to monitor our performance.
1.2. Brochure & document downloads
Most of the brochures and other documents that are available for download on EHL Websites do not require you to create an account. However, some downloads will prompt you to fill in a form with basic information such as first name, last name, telephone number and email address.
1.3. Application & registration forms
To access the online application, apply or register for one of EHL’s programs or events, or request detailed information about certain courses or publications, you are or may be asked to provide various Personal Data.
Personal Data will be processed for the following purposes: to give you relevant information; to evaluate the suitability of your application; to establish and/or manage our relationship with you (including contractual, administrative and invoicing aspects); to deliver our services to you, including courses, trainings and other services; to comply with any legal obligation; to protect your vital interests, if applicable.
1.4. Online Services and Marketing Communications
Using EHL Websites enables you to access various online documents or services, such as surveys, chats, brochures, newsletters and applications (collectively referred to as “Online Services”), provided by EHL or through subcontractors.
By downloading, accessing and/or using these Online Services, you agree that the personal data you provided may be used for commercial and marketing purposes, or to provide you with relevant information about programs, services, news and events, or to improve them; you allow EHL to contact you for these purposes (by any means, including email, phone, or instant messaging).
You can choose to stop receiving our emails and marketing communications at any time. To opt out of email communications, use the unsubscribe link which is clearly displayed at the bottom of all the email communications we send, or contact privacy(at)ehl.ch
1.5 Job Platform “Jobs.ehl.ch”
The platform “Jobs.ehl.ch” is accessible to EHL students and alumni searching for job or internship opportunities, as well as to recruiters looking for a wide variety of talents.
The Job Platform allows you to create your online profile; to create multiple CVs; to access advanced job search tool; to apply for jobs and internships; to save your job searches; to view your application history; to receive job alerts via e-mail.
By signing in on the platform, you accept the processing of personal data relevant to those services.
You can, at any time, request full deletion of your online profile from the EHL Jobs Platform.
1.6 Alumni website “alumni.ehl.ch”
Upon successful completion of an EHL degree program you automatically become an alumnus, and your personal information will become available to fellow EHL alumni via the EHL alumni website platform. Such information will enable the EHL alumni department and the regional ‘stamms’ to inform you of alumni events and activities (meetings, conferences, etc.). They will also enable the EHL alumni department to send you communications, surveys and information requests.
You can choose whether or not you want to be visible on the alumni website platform and in the alumni ‘stamms’. You can also choose which kinds of communication you want to receive. You can, at any time, request full deletion of your data from the EHL alumni website.
1.7 EHL Restaurants
In order to make a reservation in the EHL Restaurants (such as the “Berceau des Sens” Restaurant), you are asked to provide various Personal Data.
Personal Data required is necessary to manage your reservation and fulfill your specific requests, if applicable. If you consent to it on the booking system, you can receive special offers and communications from the restaurant via email and text.
We may have to process your personal data for statistical purposes.

We do not sell, rent, disclose or otherwise make available any personal information to third parties, except as described. However, we reserve the right to disclose information to authorities or third parties when it’s legally mandatory, required in connection with legal or regulatory proceedings or in relation with our legitimate interests. EHL uses subcontractors for certain services it provides, or for business support purposes.
Your data may be shared with these subcontractors. Any personal information or data shared with them will be limited to what is necessary to provide their service. EHL assumes the responsibility of ensuring that these third-party providers offer sufficient guarantees to ensure the protection of your personal data.
Additionally, EHL may have to share your personal information with any third-party institutions and individuals delivering portions of EHL programs or joint degree programs.

At EHL, we take appropriate and reasonable security measures to protect your personal data. We take appropriate organizational and technical security measures to ensure that any personal data we hold is not accessed by unauthorized persons.
6. Storage and International Data Transfer
The information you provide to us is stored on:
- Our Servers hosted in Switzerland on the EHL premises, controlled by EHL in a secure environment, in a locked facility, or in the European Economic Area (EEA) zone in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Servers owned and/or controlled by EHL for the purpose of processing data collected by third parties on behalf of EHL, or in the EEA zone in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Depending on the program and the location of the campus where you study/want to study , your personal data may have to be transferred, shared or made available in countries outside the EU/EEA with partner institutions or related third parties.
7. Changing and updating personal information
Please make sure that all personal information you provide to EHL is accurate, and ensure that this information remains accurate and up to date.
8. Your rights
Under the data protection regulations, you have a number of rights with regard to your personal data. You have the right to request from us access to your personal data, rectification or erasure of your personal data; you have the right to restrict, or to object to processing of your data. You have rights in relation to automated decisions making and profiling, as well as in certain circumstances the right to data portability. Where we are processing data based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
The rights are subject to some exceptions and will not always apply to all circumstances.
Upon request, your personal data, including your contact details shall be deleted from our marketing and alumni databases.
