Estacio University inaugurated its Campus in Sao Paulo

EHL CERTIFICATION - With a total of 7 million reais investment, the Estacio Campus Chácara Flora officially opened its doors on Wednesday 1 June 2011 with the presence of Mr Michel Rochat, Director General of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and of Mr Alain Ducasse
Set in a space of 5,000 m² and exclusively dedicated for Hospitality and Culinary Arts programmes, the campus has eight classrooms, five laboratories -each with a kitchen-, a housekeeping demonstration room and a restaurant with bar adapted to provide practical know-how to the students. In addition, there are two computer rooms, auditorium with capacity for 170 people and 200 parking spaces.
The inauguration of the campus was well attended by hospitality industry professionals, renowned chefs and the press media in Brazil. More than 650 invitees were present to witness this event.
The Estacio 4-year Bachelor’s programme is certified by the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) and the Culinary Arts programme by Alain Ducasse Formation. The relationship between EHL and Estacio started in 2005. The granting of EHL certification to Estacio was in 2006 for the campus in Rio de Janeiro. The opening of Estacio campus in Sao Paulo further denotes the commitment of both parties in the development of talents for the hospitality industry in view of the growth of Brazilian economy.
With the EHL certification, Estacio receives constant support from EHL. Apart from the curriculum design, Estacio’s faculty are trained and immerged in the EHL learning philosophy with the Qualified Learning Facilitator’s programme. Once a year, EHL conducts an academic audit to assist and advise the school on how to sustain its leading position in the region.
