As the international professional association serving over 4,800 members working in the hospitality industry, HFTP has been dedicated to providing members with extraordinary networking and educational opportunities since 1952.
HFTP provides industry-leading certification programmes, events and essential resources for professional growth. Ian Millar has been elected to the Board of Directors, and will also be the educational representative for HFTP. His job will include meetings at the HFTP headquarters in Austin, Texas, USA, with an emphasis on helping HFTP to achieve its strategic goals, and to help with European expansion.
Ian Millar has been professor of Information Technology at EHL since 2001. He is very active in organizing the EHTEC Annual Conference as a member of its Advisory Council and has attended HITEC Annual Conferences since 2005. Ian Millar was also the first European to obtain CHTP (Certified Hospitality Technology Professional), which is a HFTP certification.
As a result of Ian's activities, EHL has created the first European HFTP Student Chapter, which regularly hosts guest speakers and meetings, and whose main purpose is the education of EHL students in the areas of technology and finance.
