Internships and in-company experience
A useful source of EHL talent that you can put to work in your company is student interns. You will find them to be bright, hardworking, eager to learn, well prepared.
Company Culture Scheme
At EHL, a new relationship model, the "Company Culture Scheme", allows employers to participate more fully both in the internship and in the recruitment process. This scheme will allow you to identify students who interest you very early on in their studies, and to get them on track for your particular brand profile and expectations by providing training, expertise and customized job opportunities throughout their studies.
Your role in an internship
Internships at EHL are not just "a job". They are integrated into the curriculum and play an important role in student education. From the employer's point of view, potential interns are carefully prepared for their work experience and eager to assume responsibility. They also have many skills that may be lacking in other interns: the ability to work well in teams, excellent computer skills and a knowledge of hospitality applications.
We ask you to help us in building an learning experience for our students. This will benefit both our school and you, as an employer. EHL has developed some internship guidelines in order to encourage employers to develop their internships in such a way that benefits for employers and students are maximized.
First internship: operationsDuring their first year, all students in the Bachelor and Diploma programmes spend part of the year off-campus on an operational internship. This is a period of immersion into one or two operational aspects of the hospitality business: kitchen, service, housekeeping or reception. |
Second internship: administration and managementThis time, instead of hands-on work in a kitchen brigade or behind the front desk, the internship focuses on running the hospitality enterprise as a business. |
| How to recruit our student for internships? Each semester, the Information and Recruitment Days (REC), a recruiting season of approximately four weeks, is organized on EHL’s campus. This is your opportunity to present your company, get acquainted with EHL students and conduct interviews with individual candidates. Our internships office is also at your disposal to make your internship positions available for our students. |
