Accreditation for the Master programme

US accreditation

EHL’s Master in Hospitality Administration is an executive master’s degree along the lines of an international MBA and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Europe

The programme was established in close cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences (HES-SO). It is not, however, an HES degree on the Bologna model, which calls for a “consecutive master”, involving both coursework and a thesis, to be taken immediately following the Bachelor degree.

EHL’s Master in Hospitality Administration is designed for working professionals who have obtained at least two years’ professional experience following their Bachelor degree. It is a career-oriented degree on the MBA model, based on experiential learning and the insight which comes from the shared experience of participants from many different professional backgrounds. It does not require a thesis.

Recognition for further study

The EHL master’s degree prepares participants for specific opportunities and niche markets offered by the hospitality industry. The programme is focused on the realities of the economy and on the employment market. However its intensive theoretical component, and its NEASC accreditation at master’s level, also enable graduates to undertake a Ph.D with success in many countries, as has been the case for past candidates.

In parallel, EHL is also working with other schools in HES-SO on the development of a joint consecutive master’s degree.
