Internationally

International accreditation by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) involves a 3-step procedure: self-evaluation, external evaluation, decision on accreditation.

The NEASC accrediting procedure

Universities applying for accreditation undertake an intensive self-study covering all aspects of the institution: mission, curriculum development and delivery, student selection, performance and assessment, as well as a comprehensive investigation into all the departments and services of the school. A visiting team evaluates the school in the light of the study and makes recommendations and follow-up visits to ensure that recommendations have been implemented. Final decisions are made during a general meeting of the Association.

An on-going process

International accreditation is an on-going process which must be regularly monitored and renewed. EHL was first accredited by NEASC's Higher Education Commission in 2003 and will receive a intermediate evaluation in 2008 before a new self-study scheduled for 2013.
