EHL's unique CyberHotel: combining theory and practice
The CyberHotel, a specially equipped and fully functional room on the EHL campus, features best practice IT solutions in hospitality technology currently used in the industry.

|
The aim of CyberHotel is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the hospitality industry software, hardware, interfaces and networks which they will have to deal with on a day-to-day basis in their professional lives. Software includes sophisticated property management, revenue management and customer relationship management systems as well as the software systems for sales and catering which are already part of EHL’s programmes. |
Students are able to gain varied, practical experience with systems which are currently used in the hospitality industry, including security systems, e-minibars, labor management, banqueting planning or yield management systems.
Future plans include the opportunity to evaluate and compare different PMS systems, or to use CyberHotel as a test platform for determining the best purchase for a specified hotel.
The CyberHotel and the HFTP
The founder and director of the CyberHotel is Professor Ian Millar, who has been Professor of Information Technology at EHL since 2001, and has recently been elected to the Board of Directors of HFTP (Hospitality Financial and Technical Professionals).
