First scenario: career climber.
You see a Master’s degree as the key to moving up the ladder in your current hospitality career. Increasing your managerial know-how and mastering advanced analytical tools and techniques will enable you to take on greater responsibilities and progress more quickly towards a senior management position in the hospitality industry.
Second scenario: career switcher.
You are working in a different sector and are interested in switching into hospitality as a completely new area of professional activity. For you, a Master’s degree will facilitate this change. Your previous knowledge and experience will be combined with the specialized focus on hospitality we provide at Lausanne. We will help you develop a new, unusual combination of skills which will open up interesting job opportunities in this rapidly changing industry.
A desire for change
Whether you are a career climber or a career switcher, you are seeking a voyage of discovery, even a turning-point in your life. Our MHA draws a wide array of talents from many different countries and backgrounds, all driven by a sense of expectancy and a desire for change. Career switchers include bankers, lawyers, political scientists, artists, architects and computer experts. Career climbers come from diverse hospitality backgrounds including operations and facilities management, human resources, marketing or finance.

Although there is no one typical profile for our new graduates, many enter the field of business development with a hospitality focus. Often, we find that our graduates create a market for their own individual expertise and thereby create their own career opportunities with service organisations - some of which did not even exist before!
