FAQ for the Diploma progamme

Selection process

How does the admissions process work?

The admissions process is detailed and individualized. Close attention is paid to your school record, letter of motivation and work experience report, extracurricular activities, teacher comments and employer recommendations. We take into account any information providing insight into the way you work alone and/or in a group, and any special skills or talents.

How long does the admissions/selection process take?

Once you have submitted a complete application package, your written file will be evaluated. If you pass this first screening, you will be invited for an interview to explore in more detail the "fit" between your profile and your interests and the school and the education we can offer you. Based on the evaluation of both your written file and your interview, the Admission Commission will make a final decision whether to admit you to EHL.

The Admission Commission communicates its final decision within about four weeks of your interview. The decision will be communicated in writing.

Will the Admissions Office understand my curriculum?

The Admissions Office evaluates files from many different educational systems in addition to the Swiss system, including British GCSE A-levels, the US High School Diploma and SAT/AP options, the French Baccalauréat, the International Baccalaureate, the Spanish Bachillerato and the German Abitur, among others.

Assessing a candidate's potential for success involves examining both academic results, personal and relationship qualities, and aptitude for hospitality.
