Research focus

EHL's applied research is carried out within the framework of three strategic axes which have been defined by the school as key areas for future industry development:

1. Human behaviour in the hospitality industry

Human resources are an important factor for success in any enterprise. In the hospitality industry, human capital is a key resource both at the level of client contact, where employee behaviour directly influences satisfaction, and at management level, where staff motivation determines a firm’s capacity to innovate and maintain competitive advantage.

2. New technologies in hospitality marketing

In today’s competitive industry, marketing is increasingly important at both local and global level. New technologies bring added value in all areas, from market intelligence through to distribution channels and client relations (CRM). Integrat-ing new technologies is crucial as they are used across the board by clients, intermediaries and suppliers.

3. Strategic-financial decision making process and its implementation

Creating value in hospitality enterprises requires strategic decisions that are based on a knowledge both of the global financial market and of internal processes and their potential for adding value. As all stakeholders and management functions are involved in value creation, the approach is multidisciplinary.
