EHL – Even Stars have Roots

The Forum de l’économie vaudoise 2010 promotes the values and leadership of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and two of its Alumni members.

Mr Michel Rochat, General Director of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne took part in the 18th Forum de l’économie vaudoise organized on 17 September 2010 at the opening of Comptoir Suisse in Lausanne.

Mr Rochat restated the position of leader of the School and its network of Alumni in the Hospitality Management business. He also introduced the latest EHL film entitled "Even Stars have Roots", focusing on the four key-pillars of our institution: Art & Science (Students), Passion & Excellence (Alumni), Talent & Leadership (Faculty and Staff) and Partnership & Learning (Industry).

   

   

Two EHL Alumni members also took part in the Forum with Mr Rochat. They presented their projects:

Indira Kithsiri received the Social Responsibility Award in addition to her EHL Bachelor in Spring 2010. This gifted and benevolent young woman who is both Swiss and Sri Lankan created Sahana Sri Lanka (), a humanitarian organization in February 2005, following the tsunami of 2004 which devastated large parts of Sri Lanka.
Arnaud Bertrand is a talented young entrepreneur who launched with two others EHL Alumni the famous Web site Housetrip.com, which offers apartments for holidays in the city. Elected best start-up by the tourism industry, the company is growing fast from city to city (already 7000 apartments) and aims to stretch out outside of Europe through a new capital round.www.sahana-srilanka.org
