New York, November 14, 2011 – The Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), the world’s first hotel school founded in 1893, organized a panel discussion on Friday, November 11 in conjunction with the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management of the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies (NYU-SCPS) that brought experts from both sides of the Atlantic together to discuss sustainable hospitality. This event followed the recent creation of EHL’s New York-Lausanne Society in collaboration with the Swiss Consulate General in New York and Presence Switzerland. The aim of this association is to promote academic and economic collaboration and exchange in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship in the hospitality industry between Switzerland and the US.

Réaffirmant sa volonté de contribuer au développement de l’innovation et de l’entreprenariat dans les métiers de l’accueil, l’Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) a remis à l’Ambassade de Suisse à Paris le Prix « Société Paris-Lausanne ». En octroyant chaque année ce Prix décerné par un comité de sélection, l’EHL consacre un projet innovant porté par une entreprise ou un entrepreneur. Cette année, le Prix a été décerné à M. Bruno Wolfisberg, pour son projet TentSo.
Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne launched the London-Lausanne Society

Based on the success of the newly created Paris-Lausanne Society last year in Paris, Prof. Michel Rochat, Director General at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, has signed the Foundation Chart of the London-Lausanne Society together with His Excellency, Mr. Anton Thalmann, Swiss Ambassador to UK, on the 15 September 2011 at the Swiss Embassy in London. The London-Lausanne Society shall be a platform to promote new partnerships and collaborations between different key stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, the industry to Universities and Business School together with the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne.

Researchers and Professionals of the Hospitality Industry come together at the Institut Paul Bocuse for the international I-CHLAR Congress

A joint creation of the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and Indiana University, the goal of I-Chlar is to bring together every two years the international researchers and professionals of the hospitality industry for a Management School for Hotels and Food & Beverage.
The Institut Paul Bocuse will host this latest edition on 7 and 8 July, in partnership with IAE Lyon - Université Jean Moulin (Lyon 3).
I-Chlar 2011 will bring together almost 80 participants on the theme of: “Balancing Art, Innovation & Performance, in Food & Beverage, Hotel and Leisure Industries”.
EHL's got Talent!

Students from the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne won the “Prix du Jeune Entrepreneur 2011” for their project, PocketStaff, on 24 May in Bern. The team from the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne therefore came in ahead of those from ETH of Zurich and the University of St-Gall and carried off the CHF 20,000.00 to bring their project to fruition.

EHL and the Ecole de Tourisme et d’Hôtellerie (EHT) Paul Dubrule in Cambodia signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday 8 April 2011 at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland.
In view of the interests of both schools to create links to academic and cultural cooperation and to achieve the goals they have set themselves as high-end institutions of education, this agreement aims at creating a multidisciplinary relationship between EHT and EHL. Its goal is to create an environment favourable to various activities which may be undertaken for the benefit of both schools.
