Cette année encore, l’EHL participera le 2 juin au Défi de Bacchus, concours d’œnologie organisé comme chaque année depuis 2001 par l’association d’œnologie d’EMLYON Business School, Sup de Coteaux.

Questex Media showed their continued commitment to EHL and to education by presenting a cheque for USD 30’000 for the EHL scholarship fund during the gala lunch on the closing day of IHIF, Berlin. The cheque was received on the main stage by M. Michel Rochat, Director General at EHL and will help fund the 30 scholarship students currently studying at EHL.

Le 2 mai, un comité d’étudiants dédié à la Responsabilité Sociétale des Entreprises met en lumière à travers son programme Access to Talent, les qualités et compétences spécifiques de personnes en situation de handicap mental pour les métiers de l’accueil. Huit bénéficiaires de l’institution l’Espérance travailleront à la blanchisserie et au restaurant gastronomique de l’Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, le Berceau des sens.
Une conférence ouverte au grand public de 18h à 19h30 sera également un temps fort de la journée.

Hier après-midi, 26 projets étudiants-entreprise ont été présentés devant un public d’entrepreneurs et de futurs diplômés. Le Prix Succès, le Prix Créativité, le Prix Ambition et le Prix Innovation ont été décernés. Etudiants, entreprises, professeurs ont échangé dans une atmosphère conviviale au sujet de ces expériences variées, véritables tremplins professionnels pour les étudiants .

The Corporate Social Responsibility student committee’s “access to talent” project highlights how specific skills possessed by people with mental disabilities can lead to careers in the hospitality industry.

On April 26th, thirteen representatives from the International Food & Beverage Forum visited the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and awarded scholarships to three students.

On 11th June 2010, Khwankeo Vajarodaya, the Grand Chamberlain of the Royal House of Siam, visited EHL and was awarded the title of Honorary Professor. Ever since, the EHL kept a close relationship with Thailand, its royalty and its hotel schools.

On 2nd April 2012, Georges Plassat, EHL Alumnus (1972), officially took office as Chief Operating Officer of the Carrefour Group, before becoming General Director on 18th June 2012.

On 22nd February 2012, Lausanne Executive Education (LEE), through Lausanne Hospitality Consulting, delivered the “Proficiency in Hospitality Management certification” (PHM) to Mr. Mario Leite, the 41st laureate of this executive certificate.

Eva Zabey has lead projects that include the Water Scenarios to 2025, the Global Water Tool to map companies' water-related risks, and a game that explores how to "Buy, Sell, Trade!" ecosystem services.

Dusit Thani College (DTC) has been awarded the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) certification to its new four-year International Bachelor Programme in Hotel and Resort Management taught in English, which will be launched in September 2012.

Lausanne Hospitality Consulting (LHC), the knowledge expansion subsidiary of EHL, managing the EHL supported schools network, is pleased to extend the club of high-end hotel schools to Bangkok, a flourishing Asian metropolis.

At this week’s 15th International Hotel Investment Forum, a team of students from the École Hôtelière de Lausanne competed and won the 5th Annual IHIF Student Strategy Challenge.

André Witschi has been appointed President of the Board of Governors of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL).

He succeeds Marco Torriani who has held this position for 12 years. The handover between Mr Witschi and Mr Torriani took place on the EHL campus on 5 March 2012.

Lausanne, 15 February 2012 – The graduation ceremony for the Diploma in Hotel Management programme was held at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne on February 8th, 2012. Paul Dubrule, co-founder of the Accor group, was present at this occasion and congratulated students for their commitment to the hospitality industry.
