The Swiss team, represented by David Alessandria - Team Leader, Julien Gradoz - teammate and Christian Ségui - coach, all members of the practical arts team at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), have won the Gold Trophy and title Of "World’s Best Caterer" in the 2017 International Catering Cup at the Sirha Salon in Lyon.

The 5th edition of the International Catering Cup (ICC), organized every two years by the “Confédération Nationale des Charcutiers Traiteurs” (CNCT), brought together 12 global teams.

  • Gold Trophy: David Alessandria and Julien Gradoz representing Switzerland
  • Silver Trophy: Sébastien Zozaya and Yoann Fournier representing France
  • Bronze Trophy: Patrick Heuberger and Brandon Wei Khong Foo representing Singapore

After preparing for several months, the Swiss team impressed the jury, consisting of renowned chefs from all over the world. Philippe Gobet, Meilleur Ouvrier de France and Senior Lecturer at EHL, represented Switzerland among the jury members of each participating country.
