Lausanne, 27th March 2017 - On March 13 - 15th, EHL hosted the 8th edition of the Young Hoteliers Summit (YHS).
The event was attended by 81 students, representing 42 partner schools from 19 countries, who enjoyed the extensive insight into upcoming trends, challenges and opportunities that was provided by a number of inspiring hospitality industry leaders.
The central theme for this year's event was "Tackling the challenge of conventionalism within the hospitality industry". An intensive and interactive program over the 3-day summit saw influential industry professionals assess this trending topic with a view to facilitating the attendees’ understanding of what the future of hospitality is offering.
YHS aims to bring hospitality management students and industry leaders together to create a collaborative community for exchanging industry insights. The annual YHS Employer Rankings is an integral part of each summit and the 2017 rankings were revealed during the recent event. The survey’s goal is to examine current hospitality management students’ future motivations and aspirations, as well as their perception of the most desired hotel brands. The selected hotel brands were categorized into Luxury & Upper Upscale, Upscale & Upper Midscale and Midscale & Budget. Within the Luxury & Upper Upscale segment, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts ranked 1st for being the most desired hotel employer for two consecutive years, as confirmed by 75% of respondents. The full results of the survey can be found on the YHS Global website, alongside additional details about this year's event.
After a successful 8th edition of YHS, EHL looks forward to hosting the 2018 edition next year.
