What I love about my work is being able to help and follow students from the time they first enquire about studying at EHL and their arrival at school, a bit nervous and stressed out, through to their graduation when they’re radiant with confidence, success and happiness! It’s always a very emotional moment. It also gives me the chance to discover other cultures, educational systems and learn something new every day.
The first question students ask me generally has nothing to do with EHL – it’s usually about my name! What is its origin? Everybody is curious. South American? Norwegian? Hungarian? Or perhaps South African? – I won’t satisfy your curiosity just at the moment: maybe you will be able to ask me the question yourself next time we meet – on campus, during an education fair, or perhaps when I visit your school?
My family is very international and I’ve always loved to travel. Just after finishing high school, I left for several months in Australia, returned for 2 years of management studies, and then left again for 6 months as a volunteer in Guatemala - in an orphanage, as a teacher, and on a construction site (need some advice on how to lay bricks?) I came back to Switzerland and started working in EHL's Academic Department, but after 3 years my itchy feet sent me off for another year of travel all over the world, through 17 different countries.
Back to EHL, after 5 years of having experienced the great job of Admissions Officer and traveling all around the world to meet potential students, obtained a Master degree in Intercultural communication, I am now proud to have this position and to work with a fabulous team.
I feel at home in the international atmosphere. I am constantly in touch with students from all over the world and I can continue to travel, to discover, to learn, to share, to meet people and to enjoy it all!
