Fabien Fresnel began his career in 1988 in Michelin-starred venues in various parts of the world, subsequently holding positions as assistant director and director of Food and Beverage in 5-star hotels. In 1999, he opened Ammon College, a hotel school linked to a 100-room 4-star hotel with three restaurants in Amman (Jordan).
He then successfully launched his career as an entrepreneur in California (US), developing a chain of high-end French bistros and bakeries. Fabien Fresnel grew the business intensively within a few years along with launching a line of wholesale products. For more than 6 years, he was the Managing Director and COO of Jacques Gourmet, Inc. a 40+ restaurant chain along with a 20M$ line of wholesale gourmet food.
Fabien Fresnel returned to academia and embarked on long journey towards obtaining two Masters and a PhD. He joined Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) as Professor in June 2007, teaching real estate finance on the Bachelor and Master programs. In February 2011, he was appointed Dean of the school, responsible for scaling up EHL’s education vision and strategy and taking the quality of teaching and research to an even higher level.
Fabien Fresnel’s degrees include a PhD in Management Science from the Institute of Business Administration in Bordeaux University (France), a Master of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University (USA), a Master in Economics from Paris Sorbonne University (France) and a Bachelor in Hotel Administration.
