Lausanne, 4 February 2015 – Ceremony at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) celebrated the graduations of the Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management program, an intense 2-year curriculum providing management training for hospitality professionals.

  • 2nd best student: Laurence Popovic (Switzerland)
  • 3rd best student: Laetitia Stucki (Switzerland)
  • EHL Spirit Award & Best Project Award: Kevin Josseron (Switzerland)

The prizes for the February 2015 graduations of the Diploma in hotel and restaurant management were offered by:
Baume & Mercier, Beau Rivage Palace, Four Seasons George V Paris, The Tourism Office for the Canton of Vaud and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts

The Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management was created in 1948; Originally, this "Director's assistance" course was designed for wives of hotel directors. In 1961, the "short" program became a Diploma of Director Assistance. In 1997, then in 2000 over 3 semesters, the program evolves into a Management Diploma. In 2007, the program is extended to 2 years and becomes the Diploma in Hotel & Restaurant Management (DHR).

From 2015, the EHL Board of Governors has decided to dispense all vocational educational programs at the Swiss School of Hotel and Tourism (SSTH) in the Canton of Grisons which was acquired in November 2013. All students wishing to pursue a more vocational education are oriented to SSTH which will furthermore allow them to obtain an ES diploma, recognized by the Swiss Confederation.
