The METRO Chair of Innovation, established in January 2016 with the support of METRO AG, is part of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship department at Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and is led by Dr Christine Demen Meier.

The mission of the chair combines the development of research and education in order to contribute to sustainable development through technology innovation in the restaurant industry.
 
The research issues addressed by the chair are:

  • Digital offerings for the restaurant industry and future trends in digitalization
  • Restaurant behavior in reaction to digital solutions
  • Consumer behavior in reaction to digital solutions
