The Practical Arts team includes five Senior Lecturers who have been honored with the distinction of Meilleur Ouvrier de France.
Each team member, from kitchen to service, is recognized as an expert in his or her field and has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.

A combination of art and science
Our academic program focuses on a rich combination of traditional studies and practical learning courses which forge a strong basis for our students’ professional career. This has been one of the founding principles of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and the key to our success. 
During their preparatory year, students are immersed in the world of hospitality and gain hands-on experience in all operational aspects of the school in conjunction with their classroom studies. 
Our Practical Arts staff is at their side to share their skills and experience. This pedagogic approach, along with our multicultural environment, contributes to a stimulating and vibrant atmosphere in which students and experts can interact and evolve together.

Le Berceau des Sens
Our training restaurant, the Berceau des Sens, is one of the practical learning opportunities where students can put their theory into practice. 
Le Berceau des Sens has become a reference in the world of culinary expertise and offers a fine dining experience, being awarded 15 points out of a total of 20 in the prestigious Gault & Millau Swiss restaurant guide.

The ideal setting
The unique set-up of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne includes several dedicated work stations such as the bakery or pastry kitchens, as well as operational stations for laundry, the deli and banquets. In addition, fully equipped demo kitchens and a wine tasting laboratory are available specifically for teaching. 
Our facilities are highly contemporary and include state-of-the-art equipment allowing the Practical Arts team members to fully express their innovation and creativity. These kitchens are promoted to the forefront of our activities; they are spacious, modern and most benefit from floor-to-ceiling windows.
